Monthly bookkeeping, HST/GST filing, payroll and year-end preparation kept current for Toronto and Ontario businesses. Catch-up work welcome.
Bookkeeping is the part of running a business that produces no visible benefit until the moment it produces a large visible problem. Sales tax filed late, payroll remittances missed, a year-end where the accountant spends billable hours reconstructing what happened in March — none of it is difficult, and all of it is easy to defer while you are doing the work that actually earns money.
The businesses that call us are rarely disorganised people. They are usually someone who did the books themselves for two years, grew past the point where that was reasonable, and now has eight months of receipts in a folder and a CRA letter they have read four times. Catch-up work is most of what we do, and it is a normal request rather than an embarrassing one.
Once current, the aim is that you stop thinking about it. Monthly books, sales tax filed on schedule, payroll run and remitted, and a year-end package your accountant can work from without a single question. The point of doing it properly is that nothing happens.
