IT Services & ICT Support

Infrastructure, cloud, network security and ongoing technical support for small and mid-sized organisations.

What IT Services covers

Most small organisations do not have an IT problem. They have an IT gap — nobody whose actual job is the systems everyone depends on, so it falls to whoever is most comfortable with a laptop, and gets attention only when something breaks.

That is survivable right up until it is not. The failures that genuinely hurt a small business are mundane: a backup that was never tested, a shared password, an email account without multi-factor authentication, a departing employee who still has access to everything. Almost none of it involves a sophisticated attacker. It involves nobody having checked.

We work at whatever depth makes sense. For some clients that is a one-off engagement to set things up properly — accounts, devices, backups, access control — and then leave them to it. For others it is ongoing support with a defined response time. We would rather stabilise the systems you already have than sell you a migration, because migrations are disruptive and only worth doing when the current setup is genuinely holding you back.

Common questions

We are five people with laptops. Do we need IT support?

Probably not a support contract. What most small teams need is a one-off setup done properly — accounts, backups, device security, shared storage — and then someone to call when something breaks. We will tell you which of those you actually need.

What does "network security" mean for a business our size?

Concretely: multi-factor authentication on email and banking, backups that are tested rather than assumed, devices that lock and encrypt, and no shared passwords. Most small-business breaches come through email, not sophisticated attacks.

Should we move to the cloud?

Usually yes for email, files and collaboration, because the alternative is maintaining a server you do not have anyone to maintain. Not always for everything — it depends on your data, your connectivity and any obligations about where information is stored.

Can you work with the systems we already have?

Yes. We would rather stabilise what you have than replace it for the sake of replacing it. Migration is disruptive and only worth it when the current setup is genuinely holding you back.

What happens when something breaks?

You contact us and we deal with it. For clients on a support arrangement that is a defined response time; for one-off clients it is best-effort based on availability. We will be clear which you are buying.
